BIO I was born on the East Coast of New Zealand's North Island. My father was a farm labourer and could do everything. He always kept a vegetable garden and was very good at it. Then we moved from the country to the city so that my siblings and I could attend high school. Our new home had a beautiful flower garden and it was the prettiest thing ever. One day after school I came home to find that the flower garden had been dug up. Finding me looking at the garden, Dad said: well you can't eat flowers and that patch is the best place to plant potatoes! He was a practical man. My mother was a seamstress by trade. She had an industrial sewing machine that roared. I was forbidden to use it but would watch her work; and whenever she would go out would sneak onto the machine. When I was in high school I made my own ball gown. It was made from leftover scraps and was a psychedelic pink that flapped whenever I moved. My photography began when our own children were born. I would chase after them with a camera snapping them. When our children were older we sent them to school in France. My husband bought a small digital camera which I took to record our children's experiences. I fell in love with how quickly I could see the images I took that my husband bought me my own camera. Some of the images I captured while overseas were used in publications and product catalogs. I have shot everything from real estate to food but my focus and specialization is towards fashion and lifestyle.
